Hello all. I recently purchased a new router, the Asus RT-AC66U 802.11ac. I then purchased a CAT6 cable, ran it to the living room and used my OLD router Linksys E3000, as a hub.

I turned of DHCP and set a static IP outside the range on the E300 before moving it to the living room. I used one of the LAN plugs not the WAN.

When it's hooked up I can see that the IP address is active on the Asus control panel. However I cannot see anything else I plug into the E3000.

What am I missing? I figured since both routers are gigabit that CAT6 should work. Was I wrong?

Each router acts as a seperate network. Log into your old router, the e3000 and see if it offers "switch" mode. If it does, then just turn it on. If it doesn't, then you'll need to properly configure routes between the two networks.

If you don't know about setting up routes the easiest thing for you to do would be buy a Gigabit switch for around 25 bucks and just plug everything into it and it'll work.
