Hey guys , just wanted to ask ,would you recommend the A10-5800k for 720p gaming ? with 2400mhz ram or 2133 mhz ram ? would it be fine for the latest games ?
Or wait for Richland or Kaveri ?

I'm not looking to max out games. If possible I will.... And there's still the overclocking option.
And should I wait for the newer architectures?

I only need an apu, mobo, and ram. Everything else I have which I will reuse.... But I'm planning to get the mobo and ram from the us as it's much more expensive here. Could you suggest a good mobo on an Indian site? Flipkart doesn't have much choice..... And does sata3 make a difference over sata2? my current drives are sata2......
Hope this apu build gives a big perormance improvement over my current build (look at my signature)

best would be this:

Intel i3 3220 - rs 6600

Gigabyte b75 d3h - rs 4000

Corsair cxv2 430w psu - rs 2700

Corsair 8gb vengance 1600mhz ram - rs 3500

Hd 7770- rs 8000

total - 25k

beleive me this is best config for you.hd 7770 is 3 x times faster than a10 pc

I don't think there is a significant improvement going from 2133MHz RAM to 2400MHz RAM. Probably at most a 2 FPS increase in performance. If 2400MHz does not cost too much more than 2133MHz, then go for it.

The Radeon HD 7660D is a little more powerful than a Radeon HD 5570 and much less powerful than the Radeon HD 6670. Still, it should be adequate for playing most games at 720p with medium graphics.

I think Richland desktop APUs are being released in June (2 month after the laptops). So if you can wait then wait. Richland will only be an incremental refresh of Trinity. Not sure what the iGPU performance will be. I'll guess a 15% - 20% increase in performance. The still makes it less powerful than the Radeon HD 6670.

Kaveri isn't expected until possibly Q1 or Q2 2014 so that can be anywhere from 9 - 15 months from now. It will be a significant upgrade from Richland, but again performance is unknown. If the iGPU can equal a Radeon HD 6670 then that would be impressive.

^I will be getting my parts from the US as there's almost a 6000 rs difference here. The i3 and the 6300 cost the same. What should I get?

7850 is the best of the three but more money if you can get it. I would recommend it.

and the order you have them is the order of power. 650 ti is better than the 7770 so get what you can afford

Okay thanks! But the 650 ti seems to get beaten when aa is enabled. With which card would I be a able to overclock better and would max out games if possible? At 720p though
Is the xfx core edition cooling good? The core edition 7850 is round 150$!

7850 Would be able to max out most games at 720p. Only game you would have trouble with would be Crysis 3.
You would be able to run high detailed just not maxed out. I like AMD when it comes to overclocking they are very easy.

The 7770 Would not overclock as much because you buy it factory overclocked. You may be able to get some overclocking but not much.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/crysis-3-performance-benchmark-gaming,3451-4.html

This benchmark shows 7770 and 650 Ti are same on low settings a .1 difference in framerate, but on high detail the 650 pulls away with more framerates.

This benchmark shoes all the cards you have mentioned

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-650-ti-benchmark-gk106,3318-6.html

650 Ti beats the 7770 in every test at 1080p so going down to 720p should just scale to more framerates.

If you have the money get the 7850 and overclock it. If you don't have the money get the 650 Ti and overclock the crap out of it.

The last XFX card I had was the geforce 5700 and it overclocked well. I haven't owned a Nvidia card since then. XFX core cooler is a fine cooler will keep it cool. Only thing that hurts is ambient temps as long as your case is cool you will be able to keep it cool.

The 7850 you will be able to overclock better. Looks like the 660 is already overclocked from factory you may get a few more clicks out of it. Logically speaking if they already OCed doesn't leave room for much tweaking. 7850 base and 660 base the 660 wins when you oc 7850 they trade blows with each other. I would go with the cheaper one of the two. But then again if you play games with physx and what that enabled then 660 would be the winner. Most cards have the voltage unlocked. As long as you know what you are doing when it comes to ocing, you will be fine. I like that card for the price. I am saving up a little bit for my build I am going with the 7870 LE I like that card and hopefully a month or so they will drop in price. =)

Yeah the Site has changed a lot, when you post now it is auto set for discussions instead of question. You have to check the question box when you first post the thread to make the thread a question now.

Uh huh. Okay.
Nebby please can you recommend a good case with dual 120 radiator support under 100$? I'm looking at the Nzxt tempest 410. I'm thinking of fitting a corsair h100i in there but also would it be enough to overclock the 6300 to like 4.2 or 4.4 ghz?
Newegg or tiger direct only please
