Hello. My HDD bit the dust recently, so I opted for a round of upgrades instead of just the hard drive. Me being me, I did not have my HDD backed up or anything like that. The new parts for my computer:
-intel i5 3.2ghz
-ASRock h77 pro4/mvp LGA 1155 Intel H77 SATA 6gb/s ATX intel mobo
-1tb mechanical drive
-G.SKILL Sniper 2x4gb ddr3

I have an ASUS GTX650 GPU
My next upgrade will be an SSD for my OS.

Since I have to buy a new OS, I am debating whether to get Windows 7 or Windows 8.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks

It all depends if the new features in Windows 8 are worth anything to you, here a wiki page dedicated to such things: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Features_new_to_Windows_8

Considering they are around the same price on Newegg, it might be best to go for the OS with the extra features (Windows 8), but the new UI might push you away, granted, it does revert back to the older Windows 7 interface. To be honest if Windows 8's UI wasn't so touch oreiented, most people won't have a whole lot to complain about.
