help! new build graphics card problems

i have a ati 4850 gave to me off my mate without the drivers disc thing and am currently running the comp with out it.. but when i put it in it normally says no signal on my TV would i download and install the drivers then put in the graphics card or what please help
these are my specs
case: zallam z11
motherboard: asrock pro4 z77
CPU: i5 3570k
ram: 8 gig (don't know name)
1 TB hard drive
psu: 700W

Have checked the graphics card by connecting it to another display?

Was the graphics card working when you you got it??
