APU and wait for graphics card?

I'm contemplating building a cheap gaming PC to run SimCity 2013. I've been looking around and I am on a very tight budget of £300 at the moment. I then came across AMD APUs. I would build the PC without a graphics card and then as soon as I am able to afford one I would get one.

AMD A10 5800K Black Edition CPU (3.8GHZ, 4MB Cache, 4 Core, HD7660D, Socket FM2, 100W

This is the APU I'm thinking of buying so basically does anyone know whether this will run well with the new SimCity.

Thanks Tom

Minimum requirements is Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4000+ so the A10 will do better then that at least. It is quite a bit better then the Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4000+ so should be "decent"

OK great. Do you know what graphics card I should be going for I will spend under £140. I don't really know anything so help is appreciated :)

That would be great I wouldn't really need a dedicated graphics card then?

And if you pick a "decent" board you can upgrade down the road anyway with that setup.

What do you mean by decent what should I be looking out for? At the moment this is what I'm going for MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 Motherboard AMD Socket FM2 micro-ATX

The hudsons are pretty good boards, Can jam a video card in there in the future easily. I would not bother overclocking with that board though. More trouble then it is worth.

I've already got a HDD and optical drive. I'm on the verge of ordering everything is there anyone who sees any problems or has any improvements I could make without effecting the price to much?

Look good, everything is compatible and nothing is cheaply made and good priced. Except APU's tend to get very hot and usually need a after market cooler. Something you should really look at.

i'd say stick with the AMD build.

getting a dual-core CPU wont be a good choice. Since modern games right now use more that 2 cores. For future-proofing stick with the first build as it will run SimCIty at decent quality.

Just add a discrete graphics if ever you need to in the future.

Ok right I'm sticking with the AMD build. The next thing is picking what graphics card I will get when I have enough money about £150 is what I would spend.

I'm not worried about using crossfire and combining the graphical power of the APU with a dedicated graphics card.

Would this work in my setup: Sapphire 11200-07-20G Graphics Card (2GB, HD7850, GDDR5)

CPU: AMD A10-5800K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor (£92.34 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: ASRock FM2A75 Pro4 ATX FM2 Motherboard (£58.71 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£48.68 @ Dabs)

it will, once you have a discrete GPU you can increase the graphic settings on the games that you play, since your CPU won't be carrying all the load for video processing.

Weirdly there is no option to pick a best answer a question I asked a couple of days ago I was able to pick a best answer. Any ideas? And there is one last question I've bought everything but the PSU as I am going to be getting a graphics card in a couple of months should I be getting something more powerful than a 430w PSU?

maybe because you posted a new thread instead of asking the communicty. i dont know if you can still edit your thread and "click on the checkbox ASK THE COMMUNITY" but nevertheless your welcome.

you should get around 550-650 for your PSU.

Sorry for not being able to pick a best answer everyone has been very helpful and I wouldn't of had a clue what to pick if I hadn't of asked :)

I think I've decided on this corsair semi modular psu

Corsair Builder Series CXM 600W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX/EPS PSU
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00ALYOTTI/?tag=pcp0f-21#productDetails

So as long as that is compatible and will work ok. This is it :) thanks for the help its greatly appreciated
