Before I buy a 8350 should I push my old pc until Haswell comes out?

Hello

I am about to build a AMD pc with the 8350 for gaming and 2D and 3D creation and rendering.

But should I push my Dell XPS 420 with the q6600 oc'd to 2.9ghz, 4gigs of 667 DDR2 ram and a upgraded video card until the end of the Summer when I would buy a Haswell system or should I go ahead and build a AMD system now?

I would suggest you to wait or haswell as it is going to arrive in just 2-3 months. And please stay away from the fx 8350. Even the two year old sandybridge beats it in most benchmarks. Although the fx 8350 does win in some multithreaded benchmarks, the added power consumption of the fx is not worth it. he fx consumes almost 30w more than a snb i5 and performs almost similarly if not a bit less.

Hm... geo now, BMW later?
Ahahaha.
In trend, Intel is a safe route. As I say again - "In Trend" Intel is a safe route which promises performance.
To be truthful, most applications and renderings are still single-threaded and in benchmarks Intel is 70% of the time, a winner.
We don't know what the future brings in these few years. Games are beginning to pick up on using more than four cores. But in trend, Intel is your safe route.
But then, I think you should wait a month and let the Haswell reviews soak up to really decide.

As I said in trend.....
I need to quit my business class.

In my opininion u have to go for fx8350 and intel haswell is 1-2% ~ better then ivy-bridge and btw in gaming i5-3570k and amd fx8350 are the same so u can see there is some real time gaming on youtube and u will see there is no diferrent in gaming .. but in rendering i think intel is better for now but in the future amd gonna be better i think. and for the price what u pay u get realy good procesor and its realy stable i have it no single problem with it.

And the fx 8350 is also very easy to overclock to 4.8 ghz if you buy a cheap aftermzrket cooler like the coolermaster evo.
