I hooked them up, and could get the GPU fan spinning, but no video display.
I could get the MOBO to light up, but the CPU fan would not spin.

Yes, they are compatible. Was the CPU fan plugged in? What CPU did you have in the socket? What memory? Did you try the system outside of the case first? Outside the case, Connect just CPU/cooler, RAM, PSU, and integrated video. Leave the card out of the system. Start the system by shorting the two pins the pwr sw. would connect to*. See if you can boot to BIOS.

*if you're uncomfortable doing that, drag the case close enough to plug in the pwr sw. and use it.

It was a bad connection between the PSU and the GPU. Also, no case until Tuesday. Never buying from Amazon again........
