Urgent help my ethernet port not working?!

I built my new pc everything work perfectly (btw, the motherboard does not have wifi) but when i put my ethernet cable in the port it lights up but it doesnt work

Well I tried this and it worked.
You can try a new plug, or try switching the heads.
Or Control Panel>Network and Internet>Network and Sharing Center and then click Change Network Adapter settings the right click the Local Area Connection then click disable then enable it again.
You can also right click then diagnose it.
If it still doesnt work, if you are connected to the internet, right click>properties>configure>click driver tab>then update driver.
