How does ´Pick as the solution´ work?

More about : pick solution

Well, if somebody found a solution to your problem, you just pick him as a solution, there you go! I just found you a solution to your question :D

I have just unselected your solution as best just to see how it works.

So, now even if one doesn´t start a thread one can still select the best solution, or best solution is different from ´Pick as the solution´?

I'm curious also so I picked AMDRadeonHD as the soluton for you.

So originally tenaciousuk picked AMDRadeonHD as the best solution for you even though you, jemm are the owner?

Who is tenaciousuk?

I think AMDRadeonHD had picked himself as the solution, then I unselected it, then you picked him again, then I unselected it again.

So, I guess from now on anybody can pick the best (?) solution, but it can be unselected...more than one time as we´ve seen.

Here's a link to the Badges Guide I just today posted! Should answer your question succinctly. :)

If you have 5 or more best answers you can select a post as the best answer in any thread that you participate in. Any less than that and you can only do it for your own threads.

EDIT: Beaten by a minute.

Interesting that now the thread´s owner can unselected the best solution, be it selected by the thread owner, or someone else with 5 or more best answers.

Another thing is that even if the best solution is given, still the ´Pick as the solution´ appears, allowing it to be changed by the thread owner, eh?

It is just wrong, I selected Randomizer before I part took in the thread!

The options present a margin of latitude for determining Best Answer. The hope is to empower users to make decisions and self-regulate when it comes to the quality of responses.

Hi :)

I agree with Rolli... I can select BA ...for ANY thread, whether I have participated in that thread or not.....

Not sure if it is MEANT to work that way, but it does for me.... and I would suspect for all others over the 5 BA qualification...

I quite like the REMOVE BA function, as the other day I saw what seemed to be two people "playing" the system and giving each other the best answers in Laptops....which I obviously could not allow lol.... so I just kept removing them...lol

All the best Brett :)

I would also note that I can "Pick as the solution" for any thread, and as far as i know, I have never been selected for a best answer. I would believe that I am seen as a "Trusted member" for other reasons, but the Guide to Badges doesn't list any other way for that to occur.
