Cant unintall any programs in control panel

hello, whenever I try to uninstall a program using windows add or remove programs, I get a message saying an error occurred trying to uninstall "program name" it may have already been installed would you like to remove it from the list?

this is a pain because I know for sure that the programs I am trying to uninstall are still on my computer.


I currently have windows 8 64bit.

is this problem for uninstalling all programs or only a program that u unable to uninstall? if only 1 program that u unable to uninstall from your computer, plz post name of that programm.

Point of clarification. Since Windows Vista there has not been Add/Remove Programs. It has been renamed to Program and Features. You get an error like this when some programs are uninstalled outside of Program and Features. Since Windows doesn't have the uninstall nformation in the registry it errors out and offers to remove the program from the list. To fix this install the program again then uninstall it from Programs and Features.
