Overclocking for Beginners

Hi all,

Just learning about all this, so please forgive my ignorance.

Can I overclock an i5 2400s with Turbo Boost already on it? Can I overclock the base speed up from 2.5 ghz?

Your model of CPU, the 2400s, is purposfully clocked 600mhz lower than the 2400, this is to generate less heat and be low powered. Have you build a gaming system around this CPU or is this a laptop your running. If this is a laptop then it pobably could not handle the extra heat of an overclock.

I would not recommend OCing that part... its just not made for it
Besides since the multiplier is locked, you won't be able to push it.
The 's' model is supposed to be for energy efficient models.
Low power mini towers and things like that

It's in an ATX case.

Sounds like from both of you guys that I probably shouldn't mess with it. Looks like I'll just be upgrading the video card and the PSU, then.
