Hi, quick question guys, i have
CPU:i5 2500k 3.3, oc'd to 3.9
RAM:4gb Kingston 1333 ram.
Motherboard: P8P67-M Pro B3
GPU: GTX560

Now the PC runs most games at highest settings with no problems, i do video editing as well and i need some good ram for future,
I am thinking about getting 2x4 DDR3 ram, 1600-1866, don't know which one is better or what to do, I need it for mostly gaming but also video editing
in after effects, i heard ram is a big factor in that, as my GPU and CPU are pretty good at the time.
For price referenceplease use amazon as i can only get it from there atm, Newegg doesn't ship internationally...

Greetings,, for gaming yes 8GB RAM is more than enough but for video editing i recommend 16, you will notice really big difference. I know people who have 92GB of ram just for video editing but that is a bit of an overkill.

Anyway, i got a couple of recommendations so suit yourself:

For GAMING you can go with something along the line of :

G Skill Ripjaws X 8GB Dual Channel - Get it here: http://amzn.to/YF1q4V
-Timing: 9-9-9-24
-XMP Ready for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Generation Intel Core Processors.
-Designed for Intel Sandy Bridge Processors on P67, Z68, Z77 platforms.
-Compatible with AMD platform

Corsair Vengeance 8GB Dual Channel - Get it here: http://amzn.to/105Lcg4
-Timing: 9-9-9-24
-Works on Intel Sandy Bridge and AMD as well
-Intel XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) Support
-Speed: 1600mhz

For VIDEO EDITING - go with something like this, i know its pricey but it will be well worth it:

Corsair Vengeance RED 16GB 1866 - Get it here: http://amzn.to/10aQZCt
-Timings: 10-10-10-27

Patriot Viper 3 16GB - 1866 - Get it here: http://amzn.to/Y8MZV0
-Timings: 10-11-10-30

What i have, its pretty good, kind of a mixture, for both gaming and editing:

Higher frequencies won't matter in gaming but they will matter in video editing.
Hope that helped

hi everyone, am building an AMD=based gaming-only PC, i've decided on most of the parts, only thing remaining is RAMs...
this will be my build:

-ASUS DDR3 1800 AM3 Motherboards Sabertooth 990FX/GEN3 R2.0
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C0RCKY0/ref=ox_sc_a...

-AMD FX-8350
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009O7YUF6/ref=ox_sc_a...

-Sapphire Radeon Vapor-X HD 7970 GHz OC 3GB
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008PQAE98/ref=ox_sc_a...

-Samsung Electronics 840 Pro Series
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009NB8WRU/ref=ox_sc_a...

For future: another 7970Ghz as Xfire

so i know that this Mobo can handle high RAM's frequencies, in-gaming performance is the sole goal, future proof is important also. so any suggestions?

thanks in advance
