Hi, I own a Samsung 840 SSD on a Intel DX58OG Motherboard. I have all the latest drivers, updated the BIOS, and made sure in the bios that AHCI was enabled. After all of this in the samsung magician software it claims that AHCI is not activated and I am getting very low preformances with my SSD. I have the SSD in a SATA 6GB/S.

X58 chipset based motherboards do not have native (Intel) 6Gb/s SATA ports.
Your motherboard uses the Marvell 88SE9128 controller for its 6Gb/s SATA ports.
The Marvell controller has a bandwidth of PCIe x1; so you will not get maximum advertised Read/Write speeds from any model SATA 6Gb/s SSD you connect to those ports.

Since your SSD is connected to a Marvell controller, you need to install Marvell AHCI drivers.
Double-check that you installed the correct drivers.
