Diffrence between ASRock Z77 Extreme6 & GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UP5 TH

So, i'm looking at getting a new CPU, RAM and Mobo for my aging rig.
I'm looking at a Intel Core i5-3570K with some G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB memory
so my question is, what makes the GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UP5 TH $100 more than ASRock Z77 Extreme6 ?

Is a motherboard that's more expensive than the CPU worth it?
Even in a side by side comparison there doesn't seem much of a difference (besides maybe some USB 3.0 ports

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated

pcb layer design and component quality better

BeryLee may have a point about the PCB layer, but the Extreme 6 is a fine mobo and runs like a champ. Features wise I'd take the Extreme6 and pocket the $100 (I run the Z77 Extreme6 in my home gamer). But if you want to go for the extra $100 get the Z77 OC Formula. That is one heck of a mobo, made for speed deamons.
