Hardware or Software Glitch Causing Problems in Graphics Card?

Hi guys, I am having problems with my 1.5GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670MGTX GPU (on a laptop) and my manufacturer has told me that it is a result of an 'unusual quirk' in the hardware or software.

Is this even possible with GPUs? I would think that a glitch would cause the system to crash, but my GPU is stable, it just can't handle games. For example, Metro 2033 is unplayable with this GPU on medium settings, but the service manager assures me that it can play this game at 60-70 frames per second.

Are they just trying to save their own skins, or is this a legitimate issue?

Thanks!
James

Is Your question if Metro supposed to be playable at your gpu? In that case - yes (Scroll down to Your card) You should be able to play the game at "high": 1600x900/High/DX10/4xAF AAA With an avg 40 fps (barely playable on these settings though)

So something is mos def wrong with the PC. where the fault is though, we need more info
