i personally use a hyper 212 evo on my i5-3570 with only one fan it runs great, the cooler comes with brackets to mount another fan but i dont see a need

NOTE: my rear exhaust is about three inches away from the back of the hyper 212 in my case, so its essentially acting like another fan

Did you already get your cooler? Is the Corsair 300r a mid tower or small ITX case?

I am asking because I just had an issue with heat and the factory cooler. The issue turned out to be the Motherboard ASRock FM2A85X-ITX. In the Bios I was getting 74c and couldn't get windows to load without shutdown. I purchased this cooler (XIGMATEK CAC-D9HH3-U01 90mm) as my case is ITX and I only have 2.7 inches from CPU to Powersupply. It looks good, works great, and its only $27.
