gt 630 no display

When i keep the motherboard on internal graphics and plug the monitor cable to the mobos vga slot while keeping my gt630 in the pcie slots the computer boots
up just fine and the device manager even shows the gt 630.

But when i switch to pcie graphics and plug the monitor cable into the graphics card the system fails to start. I get no display not even the intel logo.

Can somebody plz tell me whats the problem here. My 8600gt works fine with the same motherboard. I have a 450Watt power supply. I've upgraded the BIOS. But nothing seems to work.

Well for no apparent reason i switched monitors and everything worked fine with the gt 630. Even the though the other monitor also has the default resolution of 1440x900 with the refresh rate of 75Hz.

Can somebody please tell me why gt 630 isn't working with my LG Flatron 177WSB monitor.
