Amd II x2 250 help please

im new and need help i have got a gigabyte mobo GA-78LMT-S2P Rev 5.0 AM3+ ready and im buying a Amd Athlon II x2 250 3.0Ghz now when i look on amd website it says this supports DDR2-1066/DDR3-1066 and some places say it supports DDR3-1333Mhz i wanna buy DDR3-1333Mhz please can someone help me out and check if my mobo is compatible and my CPU thank you.

Hello Zeus, the motherboard you want will support it, but the 1333 memory controller has to be overclocked. If you dont know what this means go with this motherboard. The ASRock 760GM-GS3 AM3 AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard is a great motherboard and the memory you want would fit right in.

hi thanks the problem is i already have the motherboard from new and would my CPU support 1333Mhz as it says it wont on AMD site but i have read some where it will take it?cheers

probley be used for little gaming only and how would i OC the chipset to support 1333mhz ram on the mobo cheers

most probabily bios will automatically load the settings to run 1333mhz because your memory is rated for 1333mhz

if it does not do it then you only need to enter in bios and select 1333mhz ram speed and that is it save and exit

yeah my board supports am3+ up to 6 core cpu but will only go up to 1333mhz maybe more but will probley go bang has a 7xx chipset with amd 3000 pretty poor board considering i bought it new gunna do more research on me board before buying and stop rushing in... maybe go for full atx Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 something like this with a 9xx chipset and can go up to 2000mhz 32GB ram with support for the FX range.
