I am looking to build my first budget gaming pc and the three options I currently am looking over are as follows:
i3-3220+gtx 660
Fx-6300+gtx 660
i5 3470+hd 7850
I am getting either the asus gtx 660 2gb or xfx 7850 2gb core edition. Which combination will provide the best performance in FPS games such as cod and bf3?
Thanks

I would go for an i5 3470 (or i5 3570k if you have the cash) and the GTX 660, as Nvidia currently have more features for their cards. But, if you are willing to spend a bit more, maybe go for the GTX 660 ti, as it has much better performance than its younger brother.

I dont think you exactly get what i was trying to say and thats my fault but of those three possible configurations, which would provide better performance inf FPS games. I will try to stick with those because those configurations will stay within my $600ish budget.

Oh ok, I would say the choice is really between the FX 6300+660 and the i5 3470+hd 7850. The 660 will give you better FPS on most GPU dependent games, but the CPU will slow you down. The i5 on the other hand will be better for CPU intensive games, such as Arma 3, but the graphics would be slightly worst. I personally would go for the i5+hd 7850, but it's up to you.
