Hi, I've recently built my own PC. My specs are -
i5 2500k
gigabyte z77x ud3h
windows oem home prem. 64 bit.
ssd 128gb for os
1tb WD Blue for storage
gtx 670

My problem is that when i go to 'System Information' it says under 'System Type' --> 'x64-based PC'. But when i go C:\ it shows 2 folders- "Program Files" AND Program Files x86" Isn't x86 for 32 bit?
Also, when I've been trying to download 64 bit applications such as Crysis 2 Mod SDK, it says "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running."
Could someone please help me out here? My windows 7 oem doesn't come with a 32 bit version, that i might have installed instead, does it? Or am I just totally going crazy?

in 64 bit versions of Windows there are 2 "/program files" folders that are made.
Program files (x86) are for all of the 32 bit programs while
Program Files are for the 64 bit programs
Not all software devs make their stuff 64 bit, in fact most are still 32 bit

To confirm you are running 64 bit do the following
Click Start, Right Click Computer
Select Properties
Midway down this screen is a heading titled "System"
"System Type" should say 64 bit Operating System
