AMD FX-8350 or not!!!

I have a direct question to you geeks...Should i buy fx8350 over i5?

I will use the pc for:

1.Gaming of course...but i use a monitor which's highest resolution is 1280x1024..So will there be any noticable difference?

2.I multitask a lot...like video converting encoding and watching HD movies at the same time.

Overall i want very fast computer...But i cant afford to buy i7...

Please give your suggestion...Thank You

what resolution has to do with cpu?the best choice of course is i7 but you cant afford it!8350 may be better at multitasking but i5 (3570k probably) would be better at games!in single core tasks the i5 is ahead but in multi core the 8350 is ahead!i think there is not a big difference so i would say the i5 so also to be able to upgrade to one i7 or something like that!

In my opinion you would defiantly be better of with the 8350, I have one and am loving it, OC'ed at 4.7GHz on air.

1. Yes the i5 does sometimes have a tiny advantage over the 8350 but you'll hardly notice the difference especially at that resolution.

2. The 8350 is a complete beast at multi-tasking with its 8 cores, it will easily handle anything you throw at it and generally handles rendering/playback better than the 4 cored i5.

And it's cheaper!

So what's not to like?

For your needs, an FX 8350 would be a better choice. Also you will be upgrade to steamroller if it shows to be worth it next year.

Get the 8350. It is better at multitasking and while it isn't quite as good in games, it can handle gaming at at your resolution without any problems.
