Hi everyone I need help choosing a few parts for a computer i plan to build in a few months, when i'm done school for the summer. I'm not familiar with computers. I went to tigerdirect today and asked for help. The guy gave me a build similar to mine but right at the top of my budget ($800). On the other hand i came up with this which is about $100-150 less depending on the video card.
On a sidenote the games i play are league of legends, defiance, and bf3 if possible.

I already have the hard drive since i bought it to replace for my old desktop but ended up buying a laptop so never used it. The desktop has no PSU since my aunt's died and i installed it in her computer. My brother has a windows 7 disk that i can use as well.

In both builds we choose the same processor, i'm not sure about the mobo but it was an asus at a similar price. For ram i plan on buying whichever 2x4gb ddr3-1600 is the cheapest, he gave me 2x4gb of ram at $90. The case is $30 in store at tiger direct but he gave me a larger and more expensive one at $80. He said the case i choose is bad and doesn't have enough room for the air to properly circulate in which will cause over heating. But my brother has the same case for the past 3 years and he hasn't had any problems with it and his computer doesn't overheat and is extremely quiet. For the video card i'd like to get an amd 7870 (my brother has an asus one and it seems like a good card for a budget). The guy at tiger direct choose one that was around 280, the viseontek one, because its the ghz edition and outperfroms the normal ones. Personally i don't like it since it has only 1 fan and i think 2 fans would be better, but i could be wrong. And its more expensive than the xfx one i choose (he said xfx hasn't released a good product in the past 10 years).

My original choice XFX-7870 Double D

His choice VisionTek 7870 Ghz Edition

What i think is a good choice (any of them is good since they are similarly priced)

Thanks for reading and any input.

Change the motherboard as it will not work with that processer
Um due to the LGA1155 socket on the board

And if you are not going to get quad SLI or Crossfire then dont get a board witch can support it lol

I strongly suggest you steer clear of the TT TR2 line of PSUs @@

Quote:
Thermaltake TR2 RX 750 W is, according to our methodology, a flawed product that must be avoided at all costs. It can’t deliver its labeled wattage at high temperatures, but this is not the worst of it: ripple and noise level are way above the maximum allowed when you pull 80% or more from the unit’s labeled capacity (i.e., 600 W and above), overloading your components (especially electrolytic capacitors from the motherboard and video cards), which can cause your PC to present an erratic behavior (crashes and random resets) and, under extreme conditions, damage components.
