Computer won't boot after installing HDD

I've been using an SSD on my desktop computer but i decided to swap disks with my notebook.
After successfully installing the SSD on the notebook, i installed the HDD to my desktop and tried booting it, with no success. It freezes at the BIOS post screen (ASRock green logo) and I can't even get to the UEFI.
I'm not sure if it is a SATA(1.5gbps) or SATAII(3gbps) but as far as i know the ports are backwards compatible but my motherboard (ASRock Z77 Pro3) has both SATAII and SATAIII ports.
Any idea why this is happening?
Thank you

Enter your BIOS settings and change the booting device back to HDD. I think this will resolve your problem

Thanks for the answer.
However, i can't get to the UEFI so what I did was clearing the CMOS but it still won't boot
