I just put together a new system and i was doing a system check I noticed that is said 8GB ( 2.90 GB usable ).

Now I looked up something things through these forums and before I do anything I want to get the correct answer because some of the posts are a little older.

One said I need to use 64 bit OS as the 32 bit only will see up to 4 GB
Then other posts says to go into Msconfig and make sure that maximum memory is unchecked ( i looked and it is already ).

I am running windows 7 32 bit , and here is the following I just installed. Its just one 8 GB DIMM. Thanks for the input.
Included a link to my task manager and my system page. The link is from my own website its not spam btw.

32 bit OS can only see up to 4GB INCLUDING virtual memory. This means your paging file is set to 1.1GB. The solution is to install 64bit windows. You can delete your paging file to get 4GB usable, but some programs won't work without a paging file and 1/2 your ram is still ignored.

Sorry, 64bit OS is the ONLY solution.

There are at least a hundred threads here explaining that.
