Hi guys, most builds I see are using 990FX motherboards, although they are a bit pricey, so are 970 am3+ mobos a better choice if i want to step down a bit from 990FX?

I'm planning to go with these parts:

AMD FX8350 (4.0GHZ)
ASROCK 970 Extreme 4
CRUCIAL BALLISTIX 8GB 1600 CL8(2x4GB)
WDGTL 500GB SATA 3.0 7200RPM BLUE
XFX HIS HD 7950 IceQ X2 BOOST
SEASONIC S12II 520W
(ANY CHASSIS)

I'm planning to use it as a gaming machine. With none to little overclocking as of the moment (maybe when i learn). Any input on the build is also really really appreciated. Thank you very much! ^_^

For a standard gaming machine, with little to no overclocking that will work great for what you want.

The 990FX's have a few extra features, but nothing that you would need based on the components you are listing.

That is also a great 970 motherboard for the price :)
