I've heard that the own edition which is the cheapest $89 is tied to your motherboard? Well I'm building a new pc and am getting this OS cuz I don't want to pay the $180 for the full version. What happened if my mother board ruins? Do I have to buy a new copy or will Microsoft give me a new code???

Hi :)

They don't always, its around 50/50 ...

We sell new 7 to LOTS of customers who MS will NOT activate again if OEM...

All the best Brett :)

I've only heard good things about reactivation for OEM copies, as long as it was your fault, they're generally lenient but usually if the board where to die as a direct cause of the user, they will not lend you another license. But even then a lot of people tend to lie and say the motherboard died and from that i've only heard positive things as a result.

But of course i wouldn't ensure anything, it's simply from what i've heard for some time.

Hi :)

I wont be naughty again lol ...

All the best Brett :)
