How big of a difference is there between these two CPUs?

Intel® Core™ i7-3740QM Mobile Processor (4x 2.7GHz/6MB L3 Cache)

Is it worth an extra $150 to get the 2.7?

You are basically paying $50 per 100MHz. Another way to look at it is the $150 will give you a 12.5% clockspeed increase.

You should be able to answer that question on your own depending on what you are planning to do with the laptop.
