Dear community :),

It's going to sound ridiculous as I already have watched an unboxing of that processor but can I understand what are people paying for $1k?

The cache? The cores?Because it's certainly not the speed and most of us are going to hesitate before overclocking this above 4.7Ghz (although I would think twice for 4.7 as well).

So can anyone explain me what do the benchmarks show that I don't see?

Thanks in advance,

Roy :)

They're really good chips for rendering and other heavy workloads and are still the top performing line of Intel chips, it's main advantage is it's 6 cores and twelve threads as well as more PCI-E lanes and memory bandwidth plus larger L3 cache, a CPU is more then just speed.

For most of us the 3960X isn't worth the price, as most of us are simply gamers.
