Sweet. More competition for scumbag cable companies.

"Wahh, we dont want to invest anything in an infrastructure, just use existing copper and charge you more and more!"

[citation][nom]niixon[/nom]Will there be annoying commercials for non-live shows? I might get this if so.[/citation]
Correction* I meant I might get it if it DOESN'T have them.

If Intel TV lets us pay for only the channels we watch, I'd consider it. But since they are already talking like we'd "pay more than what they currently do to cable companies", it doesn't seem like they'll be offering any à la carte selections.

I challenge any content provider to allow me to pick the five stations I do watch (no... not porn) and let me just pay the licensing fees for those. I don't need a package full of channels with only 5 out of 60 channels that I actually watch. I honestly think a lot of crap/fringe channels wouldn't even exist if it weren't for this bundling we all pay for.

the issue is that a lot of the current TV networks have deals with each other to force content providers to bundle them. it's not really the content provider's fault. for instance, if you're getting CNN, you'll be getting Fox and NBC, or if you're getting USA you'll get TNT and a bunch of other movie channels. I would be happy with just being able to pay for a smaller bundle of channels
