Hello Tom's Hardware community. I purchased a gaming PC in 2009 and it's been running great for the past few years. I recently bought Bioshock Infinite and I want to squeeze out some more FPS. I can't afford to just build a whole new set up right now so I figure I will just get one component at a time. Would anyone who knows more about this kind of thing than me be able to tell me what I should upgrade first?
Here are the specs:

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz, 2801 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 (older generation)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 1536 MB RAM
ASUS MAXIMUS III FORMULA motherboard

What resolution are you gaming at?

At 1080p I would say better gpu. Your current gpu is equivalent to a 7870. More information would be helpful like res or price for example and your psu maybe ?

You have a decent setup. However if you must upgrade then you are looking @ 7950 / 7970 or GTX 670 /680. Very Significant upgrades. The 7950 would run you around $300, 7970/gtx670 around $400 and Gtx 680 around $450.

Or you could buy another 580 and SLI.

Shit the 580 is still around $400.
