asus laptop's screen went black

i bought an asus 7160 few weeks ago. but a week later whenever i turned it on, it went black with a cursor. so i turned it off and on it again but it brought me to the startup repair. so what do i need to do ? i sent to the shop and they said the problem was hard disk.

If its under warranty..return it... a hard drive fail IS a warranty fault...
