I am about to put togheter a gaming rig, but I am not sure which CPU to pick.

Is there a major difference in performance between these CPUs? I mostly play CPU intensive games like cs:s, LoL, WoW and SC2.

The prices in Norway are:
3770k - 319 Euro
3570k - 218 Euro
3820 - 267 Euro

What graphics card do you have?
The difference is that the 3770k and 3570k are able to be overclocked. But in terms of the games you mentioned, they are not that gpu nor cpu intensive so you can go with whichever suits your budget. I dont recommend getting the 3770k or the 3820 though, as the 3570k is more than enough.

So it comes down to: overclock, or no overclock? Overclock=more futureproof. Overclock=100 euro more

I was planning to go with 2x ASUS GeForce GTX 670 2G. Do you think games in the future will rely on more threads? I am also planning on buying BF3, will the 3770k be a better choice in that case, compared to 3570k?

And thank you for the reply, realy helpfull :)

In that case get the 3770k. You'll need to overclock that in order to maximise performance because that cpu will probably bottleneck 2 670s. Well, games will always demand more and more power (just look at crysis 3) and the 3770k will serve you longer.
And yes, BF3 and BF4 will benefit from the better processing power esp. MP.

BTW, do you have multiple displays? Because you wont need 2 670s for a single 1080p display. One would suffice. Make sure you have a decent PSU, and a good motherboard (z77 comes to mind) that will allow you to o/c.

I only have one display, but it's 120 Hz. I think i'll use this motherboard ASUS P8Z77-V PRO.

Well in that case, yeah. In regards to motherboards, anything that suits what you need (sata ports etc) is what you want to get. You could always get 2x 7870 XT for cheaper and sufficient for your needs.
