Using ASUS VS-248HP x3 Displays, on a Powercolor HD 7850 which has:

-One HDMI port
-One DVI port
-One Display port w/ DVI Active Adapter Link v

When I plug in the third monitor from the DisplayPort nothing happens, won't detect in eyefinity/control panel. GPU says it supports three, it must be either the adapter or the port, but not sure what the problem is.

Disp: 3x ASUS VS-248HP
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit
GPU: Power Color Radeon HD 7850 2GB GDDR5
Mobo: ASUS A85-M Pro

The issue is most likely your adapter, try one that specifically says it works with EyeFinity.

Mini DisplayPort

If your card has 2 dvi and an HDMI port but says it only supports 3 monitors (this was usually with the older series cards) then try using the other DVI port (move the monitor thats on dvi to the other dvi port). The reason the cards cant use all the outputs is that one of the DVI ports shares internals with the HDMI so its really one connection just with 2 headers on it. Cant use both at the same time.

Why do you even need an Active adapter? That is really designed to turn a Display Port into a DL DVI port, not a single link port. It shouldn't affect it, but I'm just questioning it.

Also, for Eyefinity to work, the last monitor HAS to be Display port.

Right, the extra information was so someones answer wasn't plug it into your other hdmi/dvi port or get an active adapter, this setup Should be working.

I figured as much, local store, didn't want to wait for delivery, usually ends this way. However my GPU is the newest 7850 from Powercolor, and it has 1 Dport/DVI/HDMI so i will have to buy that and wait it out apparently.
