new RAM problem

i have a BIOSTAR G31-M7 TE motherboard with 2gb ram (kvr800d2n6/2g)

i tried to add new ram which i bought wrong (kvr667d2n5/2g)
i tried both rams together including switching slots and the pc runs without any beeps and shuts down and runs again

old ram by itself works fine in either slots
new ram by itself doesnt boot in either slots, the pc runs without any beeps and shuts down and runs again

any help is greatly appreciated.

You yourself have written that you have bought a wrong RAM as new. The answer is in your post itself.

but 1 week ago i got the kvr800d2n6/2g(correct one) and still the same problem.

You said your kvr667d2n5/2g is having problem, not the old. Hence you should replace the kvr667d2n5/2g one.
