brand new setup not working

Hello,

I have just setup a completely new system for the first time and I think that I must have missed something out because when I switch on the PSU, nothing happens. The fans in the PSU don't run, neither does the fan on my graphics card or CPU therefore it seems that I must have a power issue. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to remedy this?

My setup is as follows:
Corsair CX500 PSU
Gigabyte X79-UD3 motherboard
NVIDIA GTX 660 Ti (3GB)
Enermax CPU cooler
i7 3820 processor
Samsung 120GB ssd drive

Are you sure you've connected the 24-pin connector or if it has a loose connection that powers the whole motherboard? That's where I would look first.
