Question about AMD 8350

no, its modules and its nothing similar to hyper threading. all the modules are, are two cores sharing the same resources like all the caches, so 4 modules, and 8 cores with each module sharing l2/l3 cache and other resources that usually like the phenom line each core had their own

So, would you recommend a i5-3570K or the AMD-8350, I will be doing video editing and using java and some other computer coding software

if the 8 cores will be used, then the 8350, its a great overall cpu, and is very comparable to the i5 in almost any program, games, rednering, editing etc. AMD has more features compared to intel on their lower end boards except pci-e 3.0.
