How can consoles such as the XBox 360 and PS3 still run games from 2013?

The 360 is what, 7 years old by now. Even at low settings a computer from 7 years ago cannot run games from this year with a decent frame rate. How do the consoles do it?

The image is streched at low resolution at low settings. If you played with a 7 year old computer on a low resolution, you could play on low settings. And they play at 30 frames.

They're also 100% optimised for playing games. They don't waste resources on other background tasks. A PC is like a swiss army knife, good for everything from gaming to browsing the web to syncing your iPod. A console is more like a butcher's knife.
