Hey ive recently decided that i need a new CPU for my gaming PC. I was initially thinking of going with an i5 3570k and an Asus z77 of some sort, but as i already have an am3+ motherboard (Asrock 970 extreme 3) i thought it would save me time and money to upgrade to an FX 8350.
Especially with the upcoming benchmarks which include the AMD hotfix for the FX CPUs and when gaming at 1440p on modern games, the 8350 often beats or is very similar to the i5 due to better optimization on multi-threading in modern games. This will only increase with futures titles.
So i thought it was largely a better decision to go with the 8350.
I just wanted to make sure that my motherboard would be sufficient for the FX 8350 while using a good OC 24/7. Most people seem to get 4.6Ghz with aftermarket cooling.
This is the rest of my system;
Windows 7 64bit
1TB barracuda 7200rpm
asrock 970 extreme 3
HIS Iceq 7950 1150/1550
Corsair 600w Builder series v2
Hyper 212 evo
2x4gb ddr3 Avexir 1600mhz
Achieva Shimian lite 1440p 27"
Casecom 6988 2 intake/2 outake
Thanks!
