ive had my laptop for about 3 years now and its just randomly decided that there is no bootable device and is asking to insert boot disk and press any key. when i got it im positive it didnt come with a disk because all of the software was already pre-installed. Any ideas hot to fix this?

(Update) ive even tried removing the hard drive and plugging it back in and theirs no change.

Sounds like the harddrive is dead. As far as "bootable CD" it is refuring to the option that was given to you when the laptop was first turned on when new it asked you to make a "recovery DVD" which most people just ignore so if you did not make them then you will have to contact the manufacture of the laptop and order them.
