Gtx660 on PCI-3.0 x8 With 2500k

Right, so I previously posted about my motherboard and I may have another problem, after my first Intel MB fried I switched to an ASUS Maximus v Formula board, great board, love it to bits, basically, since I've got a very large cooler. (Be quiet! dark rock pro 2) I highly doubt it will fit on the board. Would it be fine to run the 660 on the X8 slot with no performance hits?

that would be fine, no performance hit. pcie 3 at 8x is like pcie2 at 16x. so no problem at all.

Yes but the 2500k doesn't have the 3.0 Controller?
