How do I recover my files?

My old external hard-drive doesn't show up anymore but it seems to be working fine for it still make some noise inside that indicates that its reading, so I don't know anything about this stuff, I just want to access it again to get some files.

I guess your disk is damaged for some reason. You may simply try it on another PC to see whether it can be detected. If still no, you may use some restore tool to get files out of the disk.

I tried it but the results is the same with the others, what restore tools you recommend that I use?

Software will only help you in case your drive is visible in disk management. If you dont see the drive in disk management, then problem is beyond any software level. Recovery would still be possible just need to send it out or bring it to a specialist
