Metro 2033 no 1080p direct x11

Hi there,

just got this game of steam

when I chose directx 11 there's no 1080 option max it goes up to is 720

but if I chose direct x 9 1080 is available and runs fine

any ideas???

Cpu: phenom 2 x 4 965 be
gpu: amd 7850

can run in 1080 on all other games, skyrim, far cry 3 , bf3 ect

I have the same issue and cannot find a solution anywhere.
I have an 8 core amd, a Gtx 670ftw, 16 gigs cosair ram 1333, and windows 7 64bit. thanks.
