I would like it to be able to run BF4 when released at max setting at about 60FPS, and cost no more than about £600? I've heard building computers is cheaper but I have no knowledge of how to, but would gladly learn if it will be cheaper.

More about : buy build run battlefield

The specs aren't out yet for the game. Check the Systems forum for £600 builds. It's a common budget. For getting close to max settings, you'd have to double your budget. For your current budget, you'd be trying to run it well on medium settings.

Good luck with that...

Odds are that the cost of computer hardware will increase for any new hardware capable of running the BF4 at or near max settings. ($600-$1000 for a video card will not be uncommon)

A good bet is to get the best of what you can aford now without buying bleeding-edge hardware. This will ensure that you can run the BF4 rather well while saving you a few $$$ for an upgrade once the hardware prices meet reality once again. Besides, you'll not see a dfference between 45-60fps in any case as your brain isnt capable of processing anything above 24-30 fps.

Thing to consider though first and formost is ensure that your PSU (Power Supply Unit) is solid. A weak PSU is the fastest way to have poor performance and high hardware failures. By sparing no expense on this now all your othewr components will perform better, run cooler and fail less.

yet, 144fps seems smoother than 24. higher the better
