Hi everyone, just curious if its ok if i use G. Skill ripjaws ddr3 1600 8gb (2x4gb) for my othet remaining 2 slots on my board? I have G. Skill ripjaws ddr3 1600 on my other 2 slots, just wondering if they have to be the exact same model as my current ones to be compatible. Or can i get any other brand but have the same speed?

You shouldn't but that doesn't mean it won't work.

If you mix ram of different speed it will clock to the lowest speed ram chip.

Also it depends on your computer. You should check with the manufacturer of your MoBo if your PC can do it.

Lastley your existing chips may have errors now and when you put the new chips in it will become apparnety and start actually effecting you. You can use software like MemTest86+ which is free. I do not know if there is better software for this.

But essentially if the manufactuere says you can with your MoBo and you don't have any memory errors. then you should be good to go.

In addtion to my last answer due to the fact that i am on a work computer and the edit feature won't work

you should also make sure the timing and voltage is the same.
