Performance issue ASUS HD 7970 in minecraft(?) o.O

As the title tells, I've got a brand new ASUS HD 7970 OC TOP and... it's just ridiculous how bad performance I have in minecraft.

Average FPS: 40
Minimum FPS (really often): 20-25

What piss me off is that BioShock Infinite is running at 120 FPS, so obviously is not the card's problem.

I tried to reinstall Java and increasing the RAM memory but didn't work...

Any ideas? Thank you and sorry if this thread is not in the proper forum.
