Hey everyone,

I'm building my own gaming computer for the first time and have been looking into it. So far i have found this to be the best setup.
I am running around 2k budget and am aiming for a computer that can easily handle maxed out games for a while, saving space for upgrading such as going Xfire in this situation.

Please let me know what you think of it and what, if needed, i should replace something with.

You don't come out ahead buying an X79 for a gaming rig. The i7-3770K and the i7-3820 are pretty much identical in terms of performance. The 3770K can be fully overclocked, the 3820 only has turbo boost. You also need a cooler in order to run the 3820, Intel assumes that since you're buying the high performance line you already have a cooler. For gaming it's all about getting the best GPU you can get for your budget, everything else comes second. I also wouldn't purchase any Sandforce-based SSD.

Try this:

Thanks for your response.

Well theres a few things that im sticking with, first of all i dont need an OS or an optical drive, i can obtain those easily for free.

Second i was trying to stick with a single GPU card so i could get the second one later on when needed but still be able to run everything maxed once i get it with just 1 in a month or so.

Why go for SLI directly with those 670s? and why not go i7 for multithreading?

Also im going to stick with a Full tower as im going to add a good amount of hard drives later on along with watercooling when i feel like dishing out the extra cash
