Hi friends my name is Swapnil Tiwari and I live in New Delhi, India. This is my first time building a Gaming PC from scratch. I want to play all the upcoming games on maximum settings at 60+ FPS @ 1080p. The budget is Rs. 100,000($1,837). I have finalised all the components and Graphic Card i.e. Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition, but I am torn between these two cards :

Gigabyte AMD/ATI GV-R797OC-3GD 3 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card

GPU Clock : 1000 MHz
Price : Rs. 29,250($538)

OR

Sapphire AMD/ATI HD 7970 DDR5 Vapor-X 3 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card

GPU Clock : 1000 MHz
Price : Rs. 34,550($635)

I am leaning towards Gigabyte as it is cheaper and benchmarks show the performance of both the cards are almost identical. Here's the link :

Here's the rest of the configuration :

Monitor : Samsung 21.5 inch LED - S22B370H Monitor

PSU : Corsair Enthusiast Series Modular TX750M - 80 PLUS Bronze Certified 750 Watt PSU
CPU Cooler : Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Cooler
Cabinet : BitFenix Outlaw APAC Blue Edition Cabinet
HDD : Seagate Barracuda 1 TB Desktop Internal Hard Drive (ST31000524AS)

Personally I agree, go with the Gigabyte. Its cheaper, the performance is exactly the sender and the cooling is better due to the 3 fans. Because of the extra fan the cooling with be overall better but also quieter since the fans can run at lower RPM. Personally I think the Gigabyte is the best version out there for overall performance, value and quality.

That said the Vapor-X is also one of the best versions out there and won't dissapoint, for the money I'd go with the gigabyte though.

Hi !
If we consider the following reviews
http://www.legitreviews.com/article/2058/14/
http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/57368-gigabyte-hd-7970-super-overclock-review-20.html

between both cards, Gigabyte card is very good for price/performance. Sapphire cards are also very good, but it depends what you like. If you are not a fan-boy of any company.
Think what you like. If your case supports longer cards, go for Gigabyte one and if not, Sapphire is the way to go.

I would suggest u to go with the vapor x edition as the gigabyte is voltage locked or cannot be overvolted and so cannot be overclocked as much as the vapor x .... sapphire vapor x is meant for its cooling technology also

Hold on, it's a cooler and a graphics card? (I'm a PC newbie obviously).
