I bought a laptop with Win8 pre-installed. How do I format it and install Win7 from DVD?

You start by purchasing a copy of win 7, then insert said CD into the drive and boot from it. This may require that you change your bios's boot order so that the CD/DVD drive comes before your hard drive. make sure you can get win 7 drivers for all your periherals and for that system.

What version of Win8 came pre-installed? If it's Pro, the downgrade to Win7 pro is free. See the link in the last post here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/16-73-windows-guide-last-updated-2013
