Hello I'm new to pc gaming and I've purchased a brand new custom built pc from Vibox.co.uk and received it yesterday but I believe there is a problem, I've tried many different things to try to determine what's wrong with it, the pc seems to only crash while playing games (10-30mins of playing before it crashes) and I think sometimes it may crash if the temperature goes above 40 Celsius(the temperature displayed on my case) (But i have seen the temperature rise to 45 Celsius and then crash) All the drivers are updated aswell.

Here is my custom pc:

1x 24x DVD-RW Optical Drive
1x 1TB Sata III Hard Drive
1x Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 Motherboard
1x Xigmatek Apache CPU Cooler
1x 3.8ghz AMD FX-6200 6-Core CPU
1x 16gb Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz Gaming Ram
1x Corsair Enthsiast TX650 80+ 650W PSU
1x AMD ATI Radeon HD 7970 3GB Graphics Card
1x Vibox Tactician Blue Gaming Case
1x Windows 8 64Bit

If You have any information that may stop the pc crashing i will be very grateful thanks

Update: I have just done a few tests, the stats below are what the pc is running at just before it crashes.

Amd Graphics Card - 70Celsius to 80Celsius
Temperature Displayed on case - 40Celsius to 45Celsius
Fan Speed - Automatic Setting - Rises From 20% to 70% Then Crashes
- Manual Setting - I have tried at 100% and still crashes

With the stats above when the pc crashes, is there a good chance that my system is not keeping cool enough??

My guess would be the CPU cooler.
The FX series, while powerful, is notorious for outputting quite a bit of heat.
May need to seek for a better cooling method.

Hi :)

Forget the case temp numbers....

Next time it crashes ...go straight into the BIOS and look at the case temps in there...THEY ARE accurate...

All the best Brett :)

I understand your frustration. Mine kept crashing also but that was due to water damage. I called Ritz Plumbing, the 24 hour emergency plumber in hermosa beach and they came quickly. Luckily, the motherboard wasn't too damaged.
