It looks from cursory glance as though you didn't confirm your email account, and as a result your username and account was forfeit. You may need to re-register. It is incredibly important to confirm your account by clicking the confirmation link in the email the system sends, or your username will go Anonymous.

I get the same "Sorry! You don't have permission to answer." when I try to respond to some of the threads I started. I have been a Member since: January 2, 2011. My email account was confirmed more than 2 years ago. Some threads I can answer, some I can't. For instance I can't answer this one: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/388217-33-crossfire... And what's even stranger is I got a PM from tom's saying: "Your contribution to "Crossfire and Memory Usage" has been selected as the Best Answer!"
Really? I started it, I asked questions, I chose someone else for best answer. So how is that even possible?

No offense, I know allot of people worked real hard on making tom's better and I do think the over-all design is nicer but, other than the way the new Tom's now looks, I really miss the old Tom's.

You may have to reconfirm your email. It's easy to do - just change your email to something else, and then change it back to resend the confirmation.

Hi there!
After quick investigation, I can see that what you're describing is not really a bug. You are trying to do a reployToUser on a closed topic, which results in " Sorry! you don't have the permission to answer."
I guess you don't face this problem when trying to answer on an opened topic.
Do you mind trying on an opened thread?

Cheers

Yea OK sou_38130 thanks I appreciate the investigation. I did a little investigation myself and it appears your right. I'm used to seeing a regular post the end of a closed thread saying "this topic has been closed by mousemonkey" or something to that effect. What I didn't notice is that now it's just a small grey addition to the original post. Now that I know all is well. THX :D
